Are you ready for an emergency?
Are you ready for an emergency call from a man made or natural disasters are caused?
Hurricane Katrina, followed closely by Hurricane Rita, should have taught us all a lesson or two about the value of being prepared.
For one thing, it is not wise to think someone else, especially "Big Brother", you bail out, at least in a timely manner, you should participate in a true disaster situation. You can also become your own first responders.
Secondly, unless you are well prepared for emergencies, there is little hope that you will be able to very much to do to improve your situation immediately after the disaster.
Even with a few simple steps, you create and your family for emergencies can be the difference between life and death. While this may be a dramatic statement, which I expect that those who would be directly in the path of Katrina and Rita, easy-to- . Agree
One of the most important things to do in order to be prepared is a disaster, a written emergency disaster plan is in place for you and your family in the event of an adverse event follow. This written plan will be good service regardless of the cause of the emergency. The plan should include the following information: 1 A specific place to go you should. Separately be second ID bracelets or ID cards for all family members. This is especially important for small children. 3rd A phone number outside your immediate area, which is known by all family members. This number may be a willing relative number or an answering machine. It is a good idea Bands include the number on your ID. 4th Enough food and water in a safe place to be stored for a period of at least a week. MRE's and a bottle Water, water purification kit-plus, are the best bet. 5th An emergency supply of extra clothing, blankets, soap, toothpaste and the like should be packed away and ready to go. 6th If you or a family member may require prescription medications to be sure, at least a few extra days of supply on hand. 7th A complete first aid kit is an obvious but often missing element that should ever be overlooked all households eighth in. Above all, keep some spare cash. Do not expect ATMs to work in a major emergency. 9th Do not forget that gasoline may be in short supply when the evacuation is required. Be sure a full tank of gas in your car and Hold if the slightest possibility that you may be evacuated. Keeping a can or two extra five gallons gasoline to the hand is worth about thinking. 10th Ensure access to a hand cranked radio.
Plan on independence for at least a week after a widespread disaster.
In a disaster, it is unlikely that you electrical energy for at least a number of days. Having a hand cranked radio to keep and be able to weather reports, the latest news and instructions from the authorities before the electricity is back may well be as invaluable.
I am sure that you to think of other products to add the short list above. No doubt that cover expensive and difficult to cover all bases, if the nature and full extent of emergency may be unknown in advance.
However, even a modest amount of pre-disaster planning pay huge dividends for you and your family should disaster strike. In the dangerous world we live in every set aside a little time to plan together with your families, the participation of a well-written, thought out emergency preparedness.
